Nothing expands Nothing OS 5.0 beta to more devices

Nothing has expanded its open beta program for Nothing OS 5.0, which is based on Android 17. The update is now available for the Nothing Phone (2a) and Phone (2a) Plus. Users can participate by downloading the Nothing Beta Hub app from the official website and joining via the system settings.

Nothing OS 5.0 introduces several visual and functional changes, including a new system font, redesigned settings menus, new lock screen clock faces, and a dedicated Glyph app. The update also features a separation between notifications and Quick Settings, as well as live updates in the status bar.

The stable version of Nothing OS 5.0 is expected to reach the Phone (2a) and (2a) Plus in mid-November. The Phone (4b) is scheduled for the open beta in mid-December, while the Phone (3a) Lite and CMF Phone 2 Pro are expected to receive the stable release in late December and mid-January, respectively. Older models, including the Phone (1), Phone (2), and CMF Phone 1, will not receive the update as they have reached the end of major software support.
