Nothing expands Nothing OS 5.0 open beta to new smartphone models
Nothing has launched the open beta for Nothing OS 5.0, based on Android 17, expanding availability to the Nothing Phone (4a), Phone (3a), and Phone (3a) Pro. Users interested in testing the software have a one-week window to register via the Nothing Beta Hub app before the beta period closes.
The update introduces several visual and functional changes, including the Geist typeface, redesigned status bar icons, smoother animations, and new lock screen customization options. Functional improvements include adaptive colors based on wallpapers, the ability to separate notifications from Quick Settings, and a new Glyph app to centralize Glyph interface controls.
Following this rollout, the Nothing Phone (2a) and (2a) Plus are expected to receive the open beta in mid-October. A stable release for the Phone (4a), (4a) Pro, (3a), and (3a) Pro is scheduled for early November.
