Nothing launches Ear (3a) and Ear (3) wireless earbuds

London-based technology company Nothing has introduced its new Ear (3a) and Ear (3) wireless earbuds, featuring distinct hardware specifications and a new audio capture capability.

The Ear (3a) is positioned as a more affordable option at HK$799, offering Bluetooth 6.0, a lighter single-ear weight of 4.53g, and a total battery life of 42 hours with its case. In contrast, the flagship Ear (3), priced at HK$1,399, includes wireless charging, a wider frequency response, and a ‘Super Mic’ located on the charging case to improve call quality in noisy environments.

A standout feature of the new lineup is ‘Audio Snapshot,’ which allows users to capture up to one minute of audio—including 30 seconds of pre-recording—via a pinch gesture on the earbuds. These snippets are saved to 32 MB of onboard storage and sync with the Nothing X app for editing, transcription, or sharing. Additionally, the Ear (3a) supports call and meeting recordings for approximately two hours.
