Nothing Ear (3a) wireless earbuds launch with audio‑snapshot recording and call capture

London‑based tech company Nothing has released the Ear (3a) true‑wireless earbuds at a €/$99 price point. The new model keeps the brand’s transparent design and adds a pink colour option alongside black, white and yellow. Key hardware upgrades include a 12 mm dynamic driver, LDAC support for 24‑bit/96 kHz Hi‑Res audio, and up to 45 dB of active noise cancellation. The earbuds also feature a 3‑stage LED battery indicator and an extra‑small ear‑tip for better fit.

A distinctive software addition is the “Audio Snapshot” function, enabled by 32 MB of flash storage inside each bud. A pinch gesture records up to 30 seconds of the audio being played and, with a second pinch, saves the clip; recordings are synced to the Nothing X app for playback, editing and AI‑driven transcription. The same hardware allows direct call recording for up to two hours, with a privacy alert that notifies both parties when recording starts. Battery life reaches 10 hours per charge without ANC and up to 42 hours total using the charging case, reduced to about 25 hours when ANC is active.

The Ear (3a) are now available in Europe, the United States and several Asian markets, with retail listings in Italy, Germany, France, Japan, China, Switzerland, Greece and Brazil. Pricing is €99 in the EU, $99 in the US and equivalent local prices elsewhere. The launch emphasizes a blend of affordable price, high‑resolution sound and productivity‑focused features such as on‑device recording and AI transcription.
