Nothing releases Essential Apps for Android phones

Nothing has launched the Android version of its Essential Apps platform, allowing users to generate custom AI‑powered mini‑applications or widgets directly on their device. The tool lets users describe the desired functionality in natural language, after which the system creates an app that can access services such as location, calendar (read‑only) and contacts.

At launch the service is limited to the Nothing Phone (3) and currently supports widget sizes of 2×2 and 4×2, with plans to add 1×2 and 4×4 formats and broader device compatibility. Future updates are expected to unlock additional capabilities, including camera, microphone, network data, notifications, vibration, calls and Bluetooth access. The app is free, offered in beta, and users can join a wait‑list on the official website.
