Noto: Four arrested for armed citrus grove robbery
Four men have been placed under judicial measures following an investigation into an aggravated robbery that occurred on April 8 in a citrus grove in the Roveto district of Noto.
According to investigators, the group entered an agricultural property to steal several crates of lemons. During the incident, one suspect allegedly struck a worker in the face with the butt of a pistol to facilitate their escape, and a gunshot was fired into the air.
The suspects, aged 22, 35, 41, and 58, are facing charges of aggravated robbery and illegal possession of a firearm. The 35-year-old suspect has been placed under house arrest, while the others are subject to residential restrictions in their respective municipalities. The operation was coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Syracuse and executed by the Carabinieri.
