Notre Dame lands defensive recruit Brayden Parks, eyes edge defender Darieon Prescott over Oregon
Notre Dame football announced a verbal commitment from four-star defensive tackle Brayden Parks, a 6‑foot‑1, 310‑pound prospect from Brother Rice High School in Chicago. Parks chose the Irish over Oregon after official visits to South Bend and Eugene, adding to a recruiting class now ranked No. 2 nationally by 247Sports and Rivals.
The program is also anticipating a decision from edge defender Darieon Prescott, a five‑star Illinois prospect who will announce his commitment on July 27. Prescott is weighing offers from Notre Dame, Oregon and Texas A&M, and his decision could give the Irish a third 2028 commit and further cement their recent success in attracting top defensive talent.
Both recruits bolster Notre Dame’s defensive line depth and continue a pattern of beating Oregon for high‑profile defensive players during the current recruiting cycle.
