Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has appointed Oliver Glasner as head coach with the goal of emulating the success of Aston Villa. Marinakis aims to build long-term stability and avoid being a 'one hit wonder' in European football, seeking to elevate the club to a higher competitive level.

Glasner, who previously achieved success with Eintracht Frankfurt and Crystal Palace, signed a three-year contract. He reportedly chose the role after discussing the squad's potential with Marinakis during a meeting in Athens. Glasner noted that Marinakis' ambition was a significant factor in his decision, describing the owner as one of the few people more ambitious than himself.
