Nottingham Forest prepares €13 million bid for Cruzeiro goalkeeper Otávio

English club Nottingham Forest is reported to be negotiating a transfer fee of around €13 million (approximately R$ 76 million) to sign 20‑year‑old goalkeeper Otávio from Brazil’s Cruzeiro. The young keeper, who rose through Cruzeiro’s youth system and became a starter after an injury to veteran Cássio, is expected to command one of the highest fees ever paid for a Brazilian goalkeeper.

Separately, Brazilian side Botafogo announced that it will not pursue a youthful prospect but is instead searching for an experienced goalkeeper to assume the starting role following the departure of Neto. The club’s management emphasized the need for a proven player who can immediately become the first‑choice keeper amid ongoing financial constraints and a transfer ban.

Both clubs are addressing their goalkeeping needs in the upcoming season, highlighting the active market for Brazilian goalkeepers.
