Manchester City completes record £116 million signing of England midfielder Elliot Anderson
Manchester City have agreed to sign England midfielder Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest for a reported £116 million (about €134 million), the highest fee ever paid for a British player. The 22‑year‑old completed his medical in Kansas and will sign a five‑year contract with a weekly wage of around £300,000.
The transfer comes as City also target other midfielders, including Italian play‑maker Sandro Tonali, and as Nottingham Forest prepare for the summer window. Forest have been linked with a £43‑44 million bid for Tottenham’s Lucas Bergvall and are also considering the future of defender Nicolo Savona, who may return to Italy.
Anderson’s move is seen as a major reinforcement for City’s midfield as they aim to regain the Premier League title, while Forest must rebuild after the departure of their record‑breaking asset.
