Nottinghamshire maintains County Championship lead after victory over Surrey

In the County Championship, Nottinghamshire maintained its position at the top of the table following a 145-run victory over Surrey at The Oval. Olly Stone delivered a standout performance, taking ten wickets for 94 runs in the match, becoming the first Nottinghamshire bowler to achieve such figures against Surrey at that venue since Harold Larwood.

Surrey, who previously held a comfortable position, now sit just three points above the relegation zone. In other action, Somerset continued their title pursuit by defeating Essex at Taunton. Josh Thomas scored 110 to help Somerset reach a total of 469, eventually bowling out Essex for 158 in their first innings.
