Nough Studios begins development on Lies of P 2 sequel

The developers of the successful soulslike game Lies of P have transitioned from Round8 Studio to a newly identified entity, Nough Studios, under the parent company Neowiz. As production for the sequel, Lies of P 2, is underway, the team is facing significant pressure to exceed the high expectations set by the original title, which reached over 8 million players.

Director Choi Ji-won and other key staff, including Art Lead Cha Byung-jun and World Designer Byung-Soo Kwon, have noted that while the first game was built from the ground up, the sequel presents a different challenge: the need to innovate rather than simply repeat a successful formula. The studio aims to maintain its unique development approach, which involves extensive internal playtesting and feedback loops.

While specific gameplay details and a release window for Lies of P 2 have not yet been disclosed, the developers have expressed a commitment to surpassing their previous work to satisfy a growing global fanbase.
