Nova Brasilândia teenager detained over school attack threats
The Civil Police, supported by the Brazilian Intelligence Agency, have executed a warrant for the provisional detention of a 16-year-old boy investigated for threatening a school attack in Nova Brasilândia.
Investigations revealed that the teenager made specific threats regarding a massacre at a state school, including detailed descriptions of his intended actions. Authorities seized materials during the investigation that included ammunition, a knife, and search histories related to weapons, violence, and previous school massacres in Brazil, such as those in Realengo and Suzano.
Police also obtained video footage showing the minor accompanying an unidentified individual during a firearm discharge, suggesting potential access to weaponry. Due to the high risk of the threat being carried out, authorities moved for immediate detention to ensure public safety.
