Nova Direita Madeira files criminal complaint over wastewater discharges

The political group Nova Direita Madeira has filed a criminal complaint requesting an investigation into alleged illegal wastewater discharges at Gavinas beach in Funchal.

The complaint names several entities, including the Funchal City Council, Frente MarFunchal, Águas e Resíduos da Madeira (ARM), and various hotel units. The group argues that these discharges pose health risks to both residents and tourists and could jeopardize the area's Blue Flag status. An independent inquiry has been requested to address the situation.
