Nova Gorica announces September festival and holiday program

Nova Gorica is entering a month of celebrations in September, featuring over 60 free events spanning culture, sports, science, and social life. The festivities include a municipal holiday on September 9 to commemorate the start of the Gorica Front in 1943.

Key cultural highlights include the Med zvoki krajev and Flores Musicae music festivals, the Poklon viziji film festival, and a street artists' festival. Scientific programming will feature the Festival znanosti and the Festival tehnične kulture. Sports and mobility will be highlighted through the Goriški festival trajnostne mobilnosti and the Nova Gorica Rally.

A central ceremonial event will take place this Friday at SNG Nova Gorica, directed by Mojca Madon. The ceremony will feature performances by actors Ana Facchini, Matija Rupelin, and Anuša Kodelja, accompanied by a jazz quartet and singer Martina Feri. This event will also include the presentation of awards to municipal honorees who have contributed to the development of the municipality. Additionally, the traditional Robinova zabava is scheduled for September 5.
