Nova Gorica police seize machetes used in street performance

Police in Nova Gorica intervened on Bevk Square after reports of a man carrying machetes. The individual, a 53-year-old street performer from the North Primorska region, was using the metal machetes as props for a public performance.

Authorities responded to reports of a disturbance and the presence of dangerous objects near a local catering establishment. While police confirmed that the man did not intend to threaten or endanger others, they seized both machetes because they are classified as dangerous items.

A misdemeanor proceeding will be initiated against the man for violating public order and peace regulations, which prohibit the display or use of certain objects in public spaces.
