Nova Gradiška commemorates 19th anniversary of Toše Proeski's death

The city of Nova Gradiška, in collaboration with the local Tourist Board, held commemorations to mark the 19th anniversary of the death of Macedonian singer Toše Proeski. The memorial events included the laying of wreaths and the lighting of candles at a monument near the Electrical-Technical and Economic School.

As part of the memorial, a 900-kilometer ultra-marathon was organized, featuring Macedonian athletes. The event symbolically connects the city of Proeski's birth with the location of his fatal traffic accident near Staro Petrovo Selo in 2007.

Dragan Gjurchevski, the Macedonian Ambassador to Croatia, attended the gathering alongside local officials and fans. The Ambassador announced that multi-day events are being planned for next year to honor the 20th anniversary of the tragedy.
