Nova Group to introduce cheaper ad-supported tier for Oneplay

Nova Group is preparing to introduce a new advertising-supported tariff for its Oneplay streaming platform, which could arrive as early as next year. According to Nova CEO Daniel Grunt, this lower-cost option will allow viewers to access content at a reduced price in exchange for watching advertisements, similar to traditional television broadcasting.

In conjunction with this new tier, Nova is developing a project called ‘Max Reach,’ designed to integrate advertising sales across both linear and digital broadcasting. The company also plans to implement restrictions on skipping advertisements during catch-up viewing. Detailed information regarding pricing, user settings, and the specific advertising model is expected to be presented this autumn alongside the group's 2027 commercial policy.

Additionally, Daniel Grunt noted the increasing competition for sports broadcasting rights, specifically citing the rise of the competitor channel Prima Sport. While Nova aims to maintain its sports offerings, Grunt indicated that the group does not rule out potential collaborations with other broadcasters to secure future sports rights.
