Nova Iguaçu City Hall revitalizes Rua Quermesse in Carmari
The Nova Iguaçu City Hall has completed a revitalization project on Rua Quermesse, located in the Carmari neighborhood of the Posse region. The 500-meter thoroughfare, which connects Estrada Luiz de Lemos to Rua João Venâncio Figueiredo, underwent extensive infrastructure upgrades to improve urban mobility, road safety, and public space utility.
Key improvements include the recovery of the pavement and drainage systems, the construction of a concrete walking track, and the implementation of a cycle route. To enhance visibility and security, the city installed 33 new poles and 66 LED luminaires. Additionally, the project requalified the central median to prevent irregular parking and encourage outdoor activities.
Mayor Dudu Reina noted that the interventions address long-standing resident requests regarding lighting and leisure facilities. Subsecretary Rodrigo Gatto emphasized that the works aim to create a more organized and functional environment for the local population.
