Nova Iguaçu expands nighttime healthcare to seven units

The city government of Nova Iguaçu has expanded its nighttime healthcare services, bringing the total number of health units operating until 10:00 PM to seven. The latest addition is the Myriam da Rocha Azeredo Family Clinic in the Cerâmica neighborhood, which now operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

This expansion aims to accommodate residents who work or study during standard business hours. According to Municipal Health Secretary Luiz Carlos Nobre Cavalcanti, the initiative seeks to provide assistance at times that align with the daily routines of the population.

Nighttime services, available from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, include general practitioner consultations, dentistry, vaccinations, wound care, and exam scheduling. Data shows a significant increase in demand for extended hours, with August recording 9,942 appointments, more than double the 4,809 recorded in January.
