Nova Iguaçu extends municipal handicraft program registration
The Educational and Cultural Foundation of Nova Iguaçu (Fenig) has extended the registration deadline for the Municipal Handicraft Program until November 30. This extension applies to both new artisans seeking registration and existing professionals requiring re-registration.
The application process involves two stages: an online form followed by an in-person evaluation where candidates must create a piece for a technical commission. To qualify, applicants must reside in Nova Iguaçu and provide proof of residency. Those who have not updated their data for four years or more must undergo a new in-person skill assessment.
Registration grants artisans access to local fairs, professional qualification workshops, and potential participation in events across Rio de Janeiro and other states. Since its inception in 2017, the program has registered approximately 3,000 professionals.
