Nova Iguaçu holds community wedding for 36 couples

The City Hall of Nova Iguaçu, through the Municipal Secretariat of Social Assistance (SEMAS), held a free community wedding ceremony at TopShopping. The event officially formalized the union of 36 couples.

Among the participants were Andrea de Oliveira, 54, and Anderson Pereira, 47, who met on a bus eight years ago. Their journey to the altar included overcoming significant personal challenges, including Andrea’s battle with ovarian cancer and the difficulties of undergoing treatment during the pandemic.
