Nova Iguaçu hosts third Arena de Lazer Light event

The third edition of the Arena de Lazer Light took place this Sunday in downtown Nova Iguaçu, Brazil. Organized by the municipal government in partnership with Light, the free event transformed a section of Via Light into a space for sports, health, culture, and inclusion.

A central highlight of the program was a race specifically for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), organized by the Municipal Secretariat of Sports and Leisure. Participants received medals to celebrate their involvement. Other activities included dance classes, gastronomy, and craft exhibitions.

Public services were also made available to the community, including animal vaccinations, book donations, and health services such as blood pressure monitoring and glucose testing via a mobile health unit. The Municipal Women's Secretariat provided hair cutting services and guidance on gender equality and citizenship through the Escuta Delas program.
