Nova Iguaçu opens registration for Municipal Handicraft Program

The Educational and Cultural Foundation of Nova Iguaçu (FENIG) has opened registration for the Municipal Handicraft Program. Local artisans have until October 16 to apply for new registration or to update existing credentials.

The application process consists of two stages: an online form followed by an in-person evaluation where applicants must create a handcrafted piece to demonstrate their skill. To qualify, applicants must reside in Nova Iguaçu and provide proof of residency.

Registration provides artisans with benefits including participation in local craft fairs, workshops, and courses. The credentials also allow for participation in craft events across Rio de Janeiro and other states, as well as discounts on materials through partner stores. Since its creation in 2017, the program has registered approximately 3,000 professionals.
