Nova Iguaçu students use planetarium for immersive science learning

Students at the Amazor Vieira Borges Municipal School in Nova Iguaçu participated in an immersive science activity on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. The Museum of Astronomy and Related Sciences (MAST) brought a planetarium to the school to provide hands-on learning about space, planets, stars, and astronomical phenomena.

The activity allowed students to visualize the Solar System and observe constellations, aiming to make science education more dynamic than traditional textbook learning. Virgínia Rocha, the Municipal Secretary of Education, emphasized that such initiatives are designed to spark curiosity and provide meaningful educational experiences that connect scientific knowledge to the students' daily lives.
