Nova Iguaçu: Woman dies after falling from viaduct following traffic dispute

A 24-year-old woman, Brenda Machado Carrero, died on Monday night after falling from a viaduct in Nova Iguaçu, Rio de Janeiro. Carrero was a passenger on a motorcycle driven by her stepfather when the vehicle was reportedly cut off by a car on the viaduct spanning the Presidente Dutra highway.

Witnesses informed police that a traffic dispute had occurred between the car driver and the motorcyclist shortly before the collision. The impact caused the motorcycle to fall from the elevated structure onto the highway below. While the stepfather sustained injuries, he survived due to protective clothing and a helmet. The driver of the car reportedly fled the scene without providing assistance.

The Civil Police are investigating the incident and are working to retrieve security camera footage from the area to identify the responsible driver. Carrero, who operated an online clothing store and leaves behind a child, was buried on Tuesday afternoon.
