Nova Lima undergoes urban transformation in Vale do Sereno
The Vale do Sereno region in Nova Lima, Minas Gerais, is undergoing a significant urban transformation, evolving into a central hub between Nova Lima and Belo Horizonte. Formerly a transit corridor, the area—centered around Avenida Rei Pelé—is seeing increased investment in residential, corporate, commercial, and healthcare developments.
Infrastructure projects aimed at improving traffic flow in the southern vector include the expansion of the BH Shopping cloverleaf, the construction of the Ferradura and Bellagio-Copasa viaducts, and the opening of Avenida Dr. Flávio Pentagna Guimarães. These interventions seek to reduce congestion and improve access to key facilities such as Mater Dei and Biocor hospitals, Serena Mall, and the future Hospital Unimed.
The area is attracting major businesses and services, including Porsche and Bodytech, which encourage pedestrian activity. Notable real estate projects include Mirá Vale do Sereno, a mixed-use development by Somattos and Pentagna featuring apartments and commercial spaces, as well as new corporate projects by Grupo JAB.
