Brazilian authorities seize irregular motorcycles in Nova Olímpia and Volta Redonda
Law enforcement agencies in Brazil have intensified operations to seize irregular motorcycles and maintain public order during recent periods of activity.
In Nova Olímpia, the Military Police seized 10 motorcycles and issued 24 traffic notifications. The actions addressed complaints regarding noise disturbances, vehicles with irregularities, and drivers disobeying police orders. During a political victory parade, officers used elastomer ammunition to disperse a group of motorcyclists who were performing maneuvers around police vehicles and fleeing at high speeds. Authorities noted that celebrations do not authorize illegal conduct or noise that disrupts the community, such as motorcycles operating without exhausts.
In Volta Redonda, the Municipal Guard increased inspections to ensure road safety and prevent disorder. The operation resulted in 12 traffic violations and the removal of four motorcycles to a municipal lot. Common infractions included vehicles without license plates, loud exhausts, driving without helmets, and operating without a valid driver's license. The enforcement coincided with efforts to manage traffic and safety during voting periods.
