Nova Orquestra brings O Rappa symphonic tour to São Luís

The Nova Orquestra, Brazil’s first 100% pop orchestra, is performing its latest tour, ‘Mar de Gente: Nova Orquestra toca O Rappa’. The production features symphonic arrangements of hits by the influential Brazilian band O Rappa, including ‘Pescador de Ilusões’, ‘Minha Alma (A Paz Que Eu Não Quero)’, and ‘Vapor Barato’.

Under the direction of conductor Ludhymila Bruzzi, the ensemble consists of 31 musicians combining classical instruments like violins, cellos, and flutes with rock elements such as guitar, bass, and percussion. The tour includes stops in Rio de Janeiro, São Luís, and Belém.

In São Luís, the performance will take place at the Centro Cultural Vale Maranhão (CCVM) on Friday, August 28, at 7:00 PM. The event at the CCVM will be free to the public, with entry granted on a first-come, first-served basis subject to venue capacity.
