Nova Petrópolis begins paving Caminho Pomerano road

Paving work has commenced on the Caminho Pomerano municipal road in Nova Petrópolis, providing an alternative route to the BR-116 highway. The project aims to connect the city to the Uva e Vinho, Hortênsias, and Vale do Rio Caí regions, addressing long-standing mobility issues.

The total investment for the project is approximately R$ 14.5 million, funded entirely by the state government through the Secretariat of Urban and Metropolitan Development (Sedur), requiring no financial contribution from the municipality. The works include earthmoving, drainage, signaling, and the application of CBUQ asphalt, which is designed to be more resistant to weather changes.

Mayor Daniel Carlos Michaelsen stated that approximately 70% of the project is expected to be completed by the end of the year. The road is scheduled to be officially delivered in April 2027.
