Nova Power&Gas details Doicești site transaction with RoPower Nuclear
Nova Power&Gas (NPG) has provided details regarding the Doicești site transaction with RoPower Nuclear. The site includes 50 hectares of reclaimed land following the demolition of a former coal-fired power plant, a new 110/20 kV transformer station with a book value of 12 million euros, and a connection capacity to the National Energy System of approximately 600 MW.
NPG stated that the transaction concluded on June 5, 2025, at a price of 24,344,314 euros, which it claims was the lowest among available market valuations. The transaction remains reversible at the request of RoPower Nuclear until October 1, 2026.
Additionally, NPG reported that it incurred project-related costs totaling 19,491,938 euros (excluding VAT) which were not paid by RoPower Nuclear. NPG proposed that these costs be converted into equity for the project company, though this was not agreed upon. A post-transaction market valuation of the Doicești site as of June 30, 2025, indicated an average market value of 63.5 million euros.
