Nova Riot releases new horror-inspired music video ‘Like I Meant It’

The alternative metal band Nova Riot has released a new music video for their single ‘Like I Meant It’. Directed by the band’s bassist, Orion, the video was filmed in a haunted house setting to evoke a sinister, horror-inspired aesthetic influenced by films like ‘Evil Dead’ and folklore such as ‘Hansel and Gretel’.

The track is part of the band’s full-length album, ‘Blood, Lies & Lullabies’, which was released on August 21, 2026, via Eclipse Records. Vocalist Nova Ray stated that the song explores the internal struggles associated with making difficult life choices and the importance of finding peace through decisive action.

Formed in 2024 and based in Durant, Oklahoma, the trio consists of Nova Ray on vocals, Orion on bass, and Ares on lead guitar. The group utilizes a digital-first global strategy, blending heavy metal intensity with pop sensibilities.
