Nova Santa Rosa reports strong winter harvest and soybean projections
Agricultural officials and cooperatives in Nova Santa Rosa, Paraná, have reported strong results for the 2026 winter harvest. Corn was the standout crop, with approximately 12,530 hectares cultivated and an average productivity of 7,000 kilograms per hectare, aided by favorable weather. About 60% of this corn production has already been commercialized.
Other winter crops included wheat, covering 150 hectares with an estimated 2,000 kilograms per hectare, cassava for subsistence, and oats for soil coverage.
Looking ahead to the 2026/2027 summer harvest, soybean cultivation is projected to cover roughly 12,500 hectares with an expected average yield of 3,800 kilograms per hectare. Despite recent heavy rainfall, wind, and hail that affected neighboring municipalities, soybean crops in Nova Santa Rosa are considered to be in excellent condition. Producers are currently implementing preventive management to mitigate potential impacts from the El Niño phenomenon.
