Nova Scotia invests $350,000 in boatbuilding industry

The Nova Scotia government has announced an investment of over $350,000 to support boatbuilders and repair businesses in expanding into new markets. Provided through the Community Economic Development Fund, the capital will be allocated to the Nova Scotia Boatbuilders Association.

The association intends to use the funds to promote local companies via trade shows, missions, trade publications, and strategic partnerships. This initiative aims to help local builders compete for international naval contracts and meet national defence priorities. Jan Fullerton, executive director of the association, noted that the investment supports the industry and the rural communities that rely on it during a complex trade environment.
