Novak Djokovic advances to Wimbledon third round with win over Stefanos Tsitsipas

Novak Djokovic defeated Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas 6‑3, 6‑4, 6‑2 in the Wimbledon second round, advancing to the third round where he will face Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech. The match lasted 1 hour 38 minutes on the Centre Court under a closed roof.

After the win Djokovic commented on the need for tennis to attract younger audiences, suggesting format and rule changes, and defended Serena Williams’s comeback, urging critics to “cool down.” He also apologized to a ball‑girl whom he startled while requesting a towel. In a press conference he highlighted team member Konstantin Stojanov’s role and reiterated his willingness to discuss sport‑wide innovations.

The victory marks Djokovic’s 13th win in 15 meetings with Tsitsipas and moves him further toward a possible 25th Grand Slam title.
