Novak Djokovic competes in Basel ATP 500 to secure ATP Finals spot

Novak Djokovic ATP 500 Basel ATP Finals tennis ATP rankings

Novak Djokovic has returned to the ATP 500 tournament in Basel after receiving a last-minute wild card. The Serbian player is aiming to secure enough points to qualify for the ATP Finals in Turin. Currently ranked 11th or 12th in the race for Turin, Djokovic needs strong performances in Basel and Paris to overcome the points gap to qualifying positions.

Djokovic's path in the tournament has seen a change in the draw following the withdrawal of Alexander Bublik due to injury. Bublik, who was a projected quarterfinal opponent, has been replaced by Casper Ruud. Djokovic is scheduled to face Ugo Humbert in the opening round.

Other notable matchups in the Basel tournament include Alejandro Tabilo facing Rafael Jodar, and appearances by players such as Ben Shelton and Arthur Fils.
