Novak Djokovic faces fan backlash over controversial comments

Novak Djokovic has faced criticism from fans following two separate controversial comments regarding his persona and playing style.

In a recent appearance on the 'Funny You Ask' podcast, actor Ike Barinholtz compared Djokovic’s on-court demeanor to that of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, describing Djokovic as a “very severe Serbian man” and suggesting he lacks the “joyful” qualities of his peers. Fans reacted defensively on social media, arguing that Djokovic has been a gracious champion throughout his career.

Additionally, during a conversation on 'Cold as Balls', Djokovic suggested that the playing styles of rising stars Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner resemble his own. This claim drew backlash from tennis enthusiasts on X, who pointed out the fundamental differences between Alcaraz’s aggressive approach and Djokovic’s clinical baseline dominance, with some users labeling the comparison as “pure delirium.”
