Novak Djokovic faces tournament decisions amid veteran status debate

Tennis legend Jimmy Connors has stated that Novak Djokovic should not be written off despite his age. Connors emphasized that Djokovic's quality allows him to remain competitive at the highest level, noting that veteran players often possess increased motivation as they seek to achieve remaining career goals.

Djokovic currently faces a strategic decision regarding his tournament schedule. Following an unexpected second-round exit at the Shanghai Masters, which impacted his ATP ranking, he is considering whether to participate in additional tournaments in Basel or Vienna. The primary objective remains qualifying for the ATP Finals in Turin, but adding more matches carries physical risks given his age and the need for rest.
