Novak Djokovic Plans Return to Masters Amid Wealth Comments
Alexander Zverev said Novak Djokovic "has more than $400 million in the bank" and is not motivated by ranking points or bonus money, adding that the two‑week ATP Masters 1000 format is a "big mistake". Zverev made the remarks at a press conference in Montreal, where the ATP Masters 1000 event is being held.
Despite the criticism, Djokovic confirmed he will compete at the upcoming Masters tournament in Cincinnati (referred to as Sinsinati) after a two‑year hiatus. The Serbian champion, who already holds 24 Grand Slam titles, said he still hopes to reach a 25th and will continue to play while he can enjoy the sport at the highest level. He also hinted at targeting the US Open later in the season.
