Novak Djokovic supports Jannik Sinner's injury management
Novak Djokovic has expressed his support for Jannik Sinner following the Italian player's decision to end his 2026 season early due to a knee injury. Speaking during media day in Shanghai, Djokovic emphasized that prioritizing long-term health is a wise strategy for extending a professional career and achieving long-term goals.
Djokovic, drawing from his own experiences with significant physical setbacks, noted the mental challenges involved in returning to competition. He highlighted that while physical readiness is measurable, the psychological aspect—specifically the confidence to perform movements without fear of re-injury—is a critical hurdle for athletes recovering from knee issues. He also extended similar sentiments to Holger Rune regarding injury management.
