Novak Djokovic targets ATP Finals qualification after Beijing victory

Novak Djokovic has secured his seventh China Open title, marking his 102nd career ATP tournament win. During the tournament in Beijing, the Serbian player defeated Alexander Zverev in the quarterfinals, Daniil Medvedev in the quarterfinals following a disqualification, and Alex de Minaur in the final after a retirement.

Djokovic is currently positioned 11th in the ATP Race, trailing the ninth-placed player by approximately 200 points. Following Jannik Sinner's decision to end his season early due to injury, the path to the ATP Finals in Turin has opened up for more players.

To secure his spot in the season-ending championships, Djokovic will compete in the Swiss Indoors in Basel and the Paris Masters. Former world number four Greg Rusedski noted that Djokovic remains a significant threat to his competitors as he seeks to capitalize on the shifting rankings.
