Novak Djokovic returns to Basel for ATP 500 and ATP Finals push

Novak Djokovic has accepted a wild card to compete in the ATP 500 tournament in Basel, Switzerland, scheduled from October 26 to November 1, 2026. This marks his return to the tournament for the first time since 2011.

Djokovic, currently ranked 11th or 12th in the ATP race, is aiming to secure enough points to qualify for the ATP Finals in Turin. His participation in Basel, followed by the Paris Masters, is a critical part of his strategy to rejoin the top eight players for the season finale. Additionally, Djokovic has the opportunity to pursue his 103rd career title, which would equal the record held by Roger Federer.

The tournament will also serve as a venue for tennis legend Stanislas Wawrinka to play his final professional matches before retiring from the circuit.
