Novandino Litio launches Chile's longest electric mining truck route
Novandino Litio officially inaugurated a fleet of four electric trucks that will operate on a 470‑kilometre round‑trip route linking the Salar de Atacama with the Carmen lithium processing plant. The project creates the longest electric cargo‑transport corridor in Chile and is intended to cut emissions and improve efficiency in lithium mining logistics.
Company general manager Carlos Díaz highlighted the initiative as a key step toward cleaner, more efficient mining operations, while Antofagasta Region Energy Secretary Alfredo Hernández called it a strong signal of public‑private collaboration supporting the region’s 2026‑2030 energy roadmap.
