Novara prison hosts inmate theatrical performance

The Novara prison will host a theatrical performance titled ‘Abbracciare una stella’ on September 11 and 12, 2026. The play was written and performed by inmates as part of a theater workshop led by Elena Ferrari and Mariano Arenella of Cabiria Teatro.

Involved in the production are fifteen inmates who are not only acting but also managing technical aspects such as sound, lighting, and backstage activities. Prison director Mario Pieraldo noted that the project aims to provide participants with professional skills that can be utilized after their release. The production is supported by the Fondazione Banca Popolare di Novara and the Piedmont Region.
