Novaspace projects $3 billion in-orbit services market over next decade

Novaspace has released a market report projecting that the in-orbit services sector will generate approximately $3 billion in cumulative revenue over the next decade. The report highlights a shift toward a more flexible and resilient space economy.

Satellite refueling is identified as the largest revenue-generating segment, with an estimated market opportunity of $1.2 billion. Life-extension services are expected to follow, representing an $860 million opportunity. These services aim to maximize satellite value and increase mission flexibility in response to growing congestion and competition in space.

Government and defense organizations are expected to be primary drivers of this market by accelerating technological maturity and creating early demand. Defense agencies, in particular, are viewing satellite refueling as a strategic capability to enhance operational resilience and mission agility.
