Novello to host memorial walk for surgeon Salvino Camera

Salvino Camera Novello Barolo vineyards Kenya nursing school charity walk

A non-competitive memorial walk will be held in Novello on September 13, 2026, to honor Dr. Salvino Camera, the former head of surgery at Alba Hospital. The event aims to combine community remembrance with international solidarity.

Supported by the Rotary Club of Alba, the initiative funds scholarships for the nursing school at North Catholic Hospital in Kinangop, Kenya. This connection stems from Dr. Camera's professional dedication to the Wamba Hospital in Kenya. Since 2025, proceeds from the walk have been directed to the Kinangop nursing school through the “Amici di Kinangop” association.

The 5-kilometer route passes through the Barolo vineyards, located within a UNESCO World Heritage landscape. The event includes a traditional snack, and the participation fee is set at 25 euros.
