Novi Sad and Nizhny Novgorod officials discuss economic and educational ties
Officials from Novi Sad met with a delegation from the Nizhny Novgorod regional branch of the Business Russia organization to discuss strengthening economic and educational ties. Led by Pavel Solodki, the delegation visited the city as part of a roadmap to connect the two regions.
Economic discussions focused on expanding cooperation between companies and entrepreneurs. According to Milorad Radojević, a member of the City Council for Economic Affairs, Novi Sad has a strong foundation for these relations. In 2025, foreign trade turnover between Novi Sad and Russia reached 920.1 million euros. Currently, the city hosts 314 companies, 3,619 entrepreneurs, and three branches with majority Russian ownership.
Beyond commerce, the meeting addressed opportunities in education, healthcare, and conference tourism. Milica Vučićević, a City Council member for education, highlighted the potential for student exchanges and joint educational projects, citing the Isidora Sekulić Gymnasium as a successful existing model for cooperation.
