Novi Sad receives new PODES committee led by law student

The Movement for the Decentralization of Serbia (PODES) has established a new district committee in Novi Sad. The committee will be led by Petar Jocić, a student at the local Faculty of Law.

During the founding session, Jocić criticized the current administration for irresponsible management, citing various local issues including infrastructure problems and the tragic collapse of the railway station canopy on November 1, 2024, which resulted in 16 deaths. He also highlighted concerns regarding urban projects, such as the construction of an underground garage affecting the Tanurdžić Palace.

PODES founder Dragan Milić stated that the movement aims to expand its organizational structure across Serbia, advocating for decentralization, government accountability, and returning decision-making power to citizens.
