Novi Sad student attack: Assailant remains at large four days after elevator assault

A medical student in Novi Sad was attacked in her building's elevator by a man she had previously allowed into the building. According to the 'Students in Blockade' group, the assailant attempted to strangle the victim over the course of six floors before stealing her phone and fleeing.

Despite the victim's phone being located via an application and the location being shared with police, the attacker remains at large four days after the incident. Protesting students claim that police declined to enter the residence at night, stating they 'cannot enter a random house at night.'

While the case is currently being investigated as robbery, students cite an inspector's comment that the motive appeared to be murder or sexual assault rather than simple theft. Protesters are demanding accountability, questioning why the investigation is not treating the incident with greater urgency given the presence of building surveillance footage.
