Novi Sad to Redevelop Kvantaška Market Area into Sports Center and Hotel
The City of Novi Sad has launched an early public review of a General Regulatory Plan for the city centre along Filipa Višnjića Street. The plan covers roughly 12 hectares between Filipa Višnjića, Venizelosova and Marka Miljanova streets, converting the current Kvantaška market site into mixed‑use facilities.
Key elements include an open‑air and indoor sports complex, a new hotel up to seven storeys, expanded green spaces, bicycle paths, pedestrian corridors and upgraded traffic infrastructure. Existing energy complexes, the city archive and some industrial buildings will be retained or refurbished, while additional residential and commercial zones continue to be developed in the surrounding area. The regulatory plan aims to align with Novi Sad’s General Urban Plan through 2030 and complete the transformation of this northern city entrance into a modern urban hub.
